A Baby Quilt

From start to finish, this quilt was designed by Kat. She found the idea of the bow-tie blocks and played around with their layout. Then she played with the possible color combinations. Being a quilt for a baby boy, this was done in shades of blue and green.

The fabrics include batiks, nursery prints, and miscellaneous cotton prints.

She also used a newer product to the quilting market. It is a rolled paper with printed lines on it, and there are tape strips on the top and bottom of the roll. You cut the paper to the length you need, tape it to the quilt, and simply follow the lines. After the quilting is complete, you tear away the paper. This one is called 'Stipples and Stars'.

(This is created by a company called Stipples Made Easy. They make the larger fill prints, skinnier border prints, and also simple block prints. All of their designs are continuous line designs.)

The backing and binding are actually soft novelty flannel prints. These worked well for the design, the colors, and the soft quality wanted for a baby quilt. Plus, who can resist those wonderful nursery prints. :)

Love the quilt Katie. And I love the stippling. Thanks for posting the information, I am going to have to try that.
