National Quilting Day was a Sewing Day

The Jersey Girls had a sewing day on National Quilting Day. How appropriate, huh!

Everyone worked on various projects.

Cat's dog Sasha approve of this quilt Mad was working on.

Here are some finished projects.

Gail finished this quilt for her son that she started on at the quilting retreat last fall.

It was a wedding gift for her son so she embroidered the names and wedding date on the quilt.

Mad finished a comfort quilt for one of her aunts who is really sick.

Cat worked on a block from one of the block of the month programs.
She has been sewing a lot lately. Look for a post soon of projects.

Lancaster Road Trip

The Jersey Girl Quilters went on a two day road trip to Lancaster, PA. First stop was the American Quilter's Society Quilt Show which was held at the Lancaster Convention Center. We were able to cover all three floors in one day.

There were a lot of nice quilts. We took pictures of the quilts but can't post them without the permission of AQS and the quilter.

Later that evening we celebrated Kat's birthday. She opened her gifts and we went to dinner at Chili's.

Next morning after a complimentary breakfast we started hitting fabric stores.

Dutchland Quilt Patch, Ronks, PA

Zook's Fabric Store, Intercourse, PA

Sauder's Fabrics, Denver, PA

Burkholder Fabrics, Denver, PA

Hayloft Fabric, Morgantown, PA

Now we saw a lot of fabric at these stores which was really overwhelming.

Everyone added to their fabric stash.

Quilt Fest

Yesterday the Jersey Girl Quilters spent the day together. First we gathered at Cat's house for breakfast and celebrated Gail's birthday with some yummy monkey bread that Cat made. Here's Gail opening her gifts. Happy Birthday Gail. It was a big one, the Six 0h :-)

Here's a picture of Mad, Patti and Cat:

Then we headed to Quilt Fest up in Somerset, NJ. Here are some of the quilts that were displayed:

Mad posted some quilts she thought were interesting over on her blog. You can view them here.

Next stop is Lancaster for the AQS starting March 16.
