November Sewing Day

Sewing day for November was Veteran's Day, Thursday, November 11, 2010. Patti, Gail, Mad, Kat and Cat first met at the Vincentown Diner for breakfast in celebration of Mad's upcoming birthday. Then it was off to Cat's house for a day of sewing.

Gail has been working on quilt for her son. Stay tuned for the finished project.

Cat had a quick and easy pattern for pillow cases so everyone sewed one except Mad who made three. The pillowcases were donated to the One Million Pillow Case Challenge.

Then everyone worked on various projects.
Kat has been making quilts for people. To see some of these quilts check out her blog.

Cat was working on a quilt she started at a class she attended with Mad a few weeks ago at Quilting Treasures, a quilt shop in Atco, NJ.

Here is the start of Cat's quilt. She is using fall colors.

Here's the beginning of Mad's. She is using Christmas colors.
Stay tuned for completed quilts by these ladies.

Mad had been wanting to make a Bow Tucks Bag but was having problems with the pattern. Cat helped her with it. To see it finished, check out her blog.

Gail and Patti both finished quilts they had been working on for a while.

Here is Patti's quilt made up of charm squares. It's going to be a birthday present for her dad.

Gail finished her quilt from the Past Times Block of the Month. It's going to be a present for one of her granddaughters.

October is Retreat Time

Patti, Gail and Mad went to the Poconos for their annual week of quilting and sewing.. This year the site was Quail Hollow Village located at Beech Mountain Lakes. It is really beautiful up there this time of year.

First thing they did was push back all the furniture against the walls so that they could set up shop for sewing.

They made full use of both the kitchen counter and the dining room table. Projects were everywhere.

Here are some pics of some of the projects that were worked on:

Gail and Mad found a lovely quilt shop nearby.
The name of the shop is Another Quilt, located in Wapwallopen, PA.

Here are some fabrics that they picked up:

Patti, unfortunately, only stayed two days.
Gail and Mad even ran into another group of quilters who were there for a week of quilting.

Cat and Kat weren't able to make it but they did attend a quilt away in Lancaster last month. You can read about it here at Kat's blog.
